I sat down and languidly took a sip of my coffee. Hot, creamy and sweet, but for some reason, it was oddly bitter and watery today. I needed it to keep me awake all night if i was going to do my job. The room was dark and filled with smoke. My friend Ruby was gyrating to the music on stage and the rest were scattered about, looking for work.
